This picture means a great deal to me.
I had been really enjoying discovering painting in watercolours, when suddenly circumstances changed and I lost my sight in one eye due to a partially detached retina - very scary but then two weeks after what appeared to be a successful operation to restore my sight, it happened again, this time even more serious, a total detachment which caused me to go blind. Only with the outstanding work of my Surgeon and Consultant, Mr Ezra, and his team at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, did they manage against very poor odds to restore my sight, and indeed unbelievably made my vision better than it was in the first place.
This picture was the first attempt I made after the second operation, and I think sums up life - don't take things too seriously, enjoy it, have fun, because you never know how quickly it can change.
Thanks again to all the wonderful staff at Moorfields, especially Mr Ezra.
P.S. The "Two Lickle Piggies" is happily hanging in the kitchen of my great friend and savior, Sue for all the help she and Keith gave looking after our dear Morecambe during the trips back and forward to Moorfields.
